Abstract
Production of various nuclei following bombardment of medium-mass nuclei with intermediate-energy protons is determined by observing both prompt and delayed rays. The variation of production cross section with target mass and with bombarding energy over the range 80 to 160 MeV implies that between one and two nucleons are emitted in the pre-equilibrium phase of the interaction.
