Abstract
A fatal case of malignant gout in a young man is described. Unusual features included the presence of tophi in the small intestine and a megaloblastic anemia. The etiology of the megaloblastic anemia remains undecided. The possibilities that prolonged col-chicine therapy or the tophaceous small intestine caused impaired small intestinal function are considered. Keywords
