Abstract
Cyclodextrin was used as a component of mobile phase for the separation of cardenolides by reversed-phase high performance liquid chromatography. The addition of y-cyclodextrin to the mobile phase improved the separation of isomeric cardenolides. The proposed method was applied to the isolation of cardiac glycosides having a doubly linked sugar from plant material and to the clarification of ring C ketol rearrangement products of cardiac glycosides. © 1988, The Japan Society for Analytical Chemistry.
