Abstract
A patient who developed a fistula secondary to Marlex mesh in the nipple valve of a continent ileostomy is reported. Etiology and management of fistula following continent ileostomy are discussed. Fistula formation should be recognized as a potential hazard of the use of prosthetic material to stabilize the nipple valve of a continent ileostomy. Keywords
