Abstract
The KLL Auger electron production cross section has been measured for collisions between Na+, Na2+, Ne+, Ne2+, and N+ ions and Ne and N2 targets. Over a narrow velocity range (0.3-0.9au), the data reveal a dramatic dynamic effect in the 2p pi vacancy occupation probability factor Npi . This is in contrast to current available theories which invoke a static factor Npi .Keywords
