Abstract
Some previous methods of estimating the number of follicles are critically analysed. The total number of smaller follicles is calculated by counting the egg nuclei in every 200th, 20u section and applying statistical methods to these data. The relative mean error is about 8% if the ovary contains about 30,000 follicles. Volume detn. of the ovary is unnecessary. Keywords
