Abstract
An enzymatic method for determination of sorbitol is described. The method is based upon reduction of DPN by sorbitol catalyzed by a purified preparation of soluble ketose reductase of rat liver. No polyol which reacts with this enzyme could be detected in blood or liver of the rat, whereas considerable amounts of an hexitol resembling sorbitol were found in the coagulating gland. Keywords
