Abstract
Blood samples taken from the aorta at the iliac bifurcation of ether-anesthetized rats were similar in plasma corticosteroids, white blood count, and differential count to those taken from rats by decapitation or by ether anesthesia and decapitation. These values were not affected by ether anesthesia of less than 2 minutes duration. The values were affected by continuous ether exposure of more than 21/2 minutes duration up to 96 minutes. Keywords
