Abstract
We report the Rietveld refinement of the structures of inert gas (Ne)-intercalated using time-of-flight neutron powder diffraction data. Various pressures to ∼2.5 kbar at room temperature were employed. We find that only the octahedral interstices are occupied by the Ne intercalate. The pressure dependence of the Ne occupancies in the octahedral site has been determined. The cubic lattice parameter increases linearly with the amount of intercalated Ne. © 1996 The American Physical Society.
