Abstract
The purpose of this study was to summarize research findings on testing of individuals from groups, particularly Negroes, which differ in some respects from the majority culture in the United States. Particular attention was paid to factors which appeared to cause or be associated with changes in test scores. The effectiveness of tests in predicting performance of Negroes in integrated and segregated colleges was evaluated.A program of research, designed to fill gaps in present knowledge, was outlined, with particular attention focused on selection for college and remedying educational deficits at the college level. Keywords
