Ambiguities in Pion-Nucleus Optical Potentials and the Determination of Neutron Radii

Abstract
The - elastic scattering data are shown to be reproduced with a wide range of rms neutron radii if the optical-model parameters are suitably adjusted. The corresponding total cross sections vary significantly.
