Abstract
About half of the purines present in muscle are extractable with water. The "free" purines are present only in traces. 75% of the extractive purines, after hydrolysis with 4% H2SO4, are precipitated with uranyl acetate as pentose nucleotides. The sum of the guanine-, adenine-, and hypoxanthine-N is found to correspond to only 2/3 of the total purine N content of muscle. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
