Abstract
The Čerenkov emission and Fermi-theory energy loss of monopoles passing through a permeable medium are calculated. Based on their Čerenkov emission, a method of identifying fast monopoles is proposed. This method would complement the present methods which only permit the identification of slowed-down monopoles. Keywords
