Abstract
We report ENDOR measurements of the hyperfine tensors of protons of hydrogen bonds in free radicals produced by gamma irradiation of single crystals of imidazole and 1,2,4-triazole. The analysis, comparison and discussion of these tensors provide information on the hydrogen bonds in these crystals. They show also that jumping or tunnelling of the protons in these hydrogen bonds, between sites with occupation probabilities which are equivalent or of similar order, do not occur at the radical in the crystal.
