Abstract
The total synthesis of the putative non-peptidyl neurotrophic factor 11-O-debenzoyltashironin has been accomplished. The key transformation involves a biomimetic oxidative dearomatization/transannular Diels−Alder sequence that closes the tetracyclic carbon skeleton present in the natural product. Keywords
