Theory and Performance of Metal Bolometers

Abstract
The ultimate limitations to the performance of a bolometer made from a classical metal are discussed and an expression derived for the noise equivalent power input of such an instrument operated under optimum conditions. This is found to be twice the value for a perfect thermal detector working at the same temperature.Keywords
