Abstract
In the presence of riboflavin and visible light rapid photoinactivation of a purified invertase prepn. from yeast (Difco analytical) occurred but no effect was found on the invertase activity of Myrothecium ver-rucaria spores, nor upon the invertase activity of extracts of ground spores. Riboflavin in the light had no inhibitory effect on the germination of the spores and no effect upon the breakdown of cellulose by this organism.
