Abstract
The thick target, thick catcher technique has been applied to determine the average kinematic properties of a number of target-fragmentation products formed in the reaction of 8.0 GeV (400 MeV/A) with . The forward momentum transferred to the target as a function of product mass is larger than that for the reaction of 25 GeV or relativistic protons with heavy targets, suggesting that limiting fragmentation has not been achieved in the interaction of 8 GeV projectiles with a target.
