Abstract
– Febrile seizures occurred in 14 of 155 (9%) out‐patients with complex partial seizures. Twelve patients had prolonged or recurrent febrile seizures, convulsive status epilepticus or a transient postictal neurological deficit. Febrile seizures were associated with perinatal abnormalities, an earlier onset of epilepsy and with a poor seizure control. Recurrent febrile seizures or those with complicating features are associated with an unfavourable therapeutic outcome in adult patients with complex partial seizures. Keywords
