Le métabolisme énergétique de l’érythrocyte thalassémique

Abstract
In thalassemia major and minor, no qualitative changes were seen in the enzymes in the glycolytic cycle nor in any of the other numerous intracellular enzymes (transaminases, myokinases, methemoglobin reductase, malate and isocitrate dehydrogenases). The activity of most of the enzymes studied was above normal. Erythrocytes of patients with Cooley''s anemia presented glycerophosphate dehydrogenase activity lacking in normal subjects and patients with thalassemia minor. Overall metabolism of the erythrocytes and behavior of energy-rich phosphates and of reduced pyridine nucleotides is not different from normal.
