Abstract
The essential oil from Lamium garganicum L. subsp. laevigatum Arcangeli (fam. Lamiaceae), was examined by GC and GC/MS. Of the more than thirty compounds identified in the oil, 1,8-cineole (47.5%), citronellal (25.1%) and isoeugenol (11.8%), were the major components. The oil exhibited bacteriostatic activity against the six Gram positive and negative bacteria. Keywords
