Abstract
By careful and speedy work it has been possible to isolate the chlorophyll components a and b in such a pure and intact state that, under suitable conditions, they precipitate in well‐formed crystals. The crystalline substances so obtained meet all criteria for pure chlorophylls a and b. The goal of crystallising natural chlorophylls a and b has thus been reached after several decades of endeavour.Whereas the spectra of pure chlorophylls a and b in the visible have been previously published, this is, to the best of our knowledge, the first time that their infrared spectra are reported.
