Abstract
In experiments on the effect of ACTH-administration to one-year old laying hens and three-month old pullets, the following results were obtained: In one-year old laying hens adrenal ascorbic-acid was depleted by 57.0% as compared to their controls. However, no effect of ACTH could be listed in three-month old pullets. These results suggest, therefore, that the failure of other workers to obtain a depletion in adrenal ascorbic-acid upon ACTH-treatment may be attributed to the age factor. Keywords
