Abstract
The maintenance of hatchablllty was studied on 4205 eggs from a heavy strain, stored in controlled 2% CO2 atmosphere. Two and 3 week long storage under these experimental conditions gave evidence for a better hatching rate than storage in a normal condition. After a 3 week storage, the number of hatched chicks in the CO2 group was almost 3 times higher than in the control, 44 versus 17% of fertile eggs respectively. After a 2 week storage only, the difference was less important, but remained significant, 66 versus 59%.This publication has 5 references indexed in Scilit:
