Abstract
The concept of immunotolerance in otological tissue grafting is presented against the background of some fundamental aspects of immunohistophysiology. Available experimental and clinical data on tympanoplasty with allografts are evaluated in relation to this phenomenon of abolished immune reactivity. Keywords
