Abstract
The DC magnetization M and magnetic susceptibility χ were measured for YBa2Co3O y sintered samples. The DC χ of a type 1 sample showed a ferromagnetic Curie-Weiss behavior in 100 K<T<350 K, and M increased steeply ferromagnetically at about 50 K. In the DC χ of the type 2 sample, the two anomalies appeared successively at 240 K and 280 K. The crystal field effect for the Co spin and the cancellation of magnetization were pointed out in this report. Keywords
