Abstract
Recent experimental results on low-temperature heat capacities and elastic constants of alkali halide crystals are examined for evidence of anharmonic contributions. It is concluded that if such effects are present their contribution to the characteristic temperature at 0°K is less than that of uncertainties in the experimental results. Keywords
