Abstract
A 50-foot sill of Karroo dolerite near Heilbron, O.F.S., has fused the overlying Ecca Series arkose to a dark buchite. Progressive vitrification accompanied by mineralogical changes may be traced towards t h e contact a t which hybridism between dolerite and vitrified sediment has taken place locally. The phenomena involved are described with the aid of micrometric data and 10 new chemical analyses. Keywords
