Abstract
Some quantitative aspects of glucose metabolism in isolated [rat] pancreatic islets are reviewed, with emphasis on the measurement of metabolic fluxes, substrate concentrations and enzyme activities. The influence of the environmental glucose concentration upon the production rate of metabolic end-products, and the intracellular concentration of both metabolites and co-factors is also considered. This publication has 15 references indexed in Scilit:
