Mating Tables: a Method of Studying the Mating and the Competitive Behavior of Lepidoptera and Diptera in the Field1

Abstract
To study mating behavior of Heliothis virescens F., H. zea (Boddie), and Cochliomyia hominvorax (Co querel) under field conditions, we placed clipped-wing females on vegetation on a table. These females attracted males and direct observations of mating competitivene was possible.
