Abstract
A zero-energy theorem and its dependence on an equal-time commutation relation is considered for the Lee model. Contrary to a recent suggestion of Bell based on formal arguments, it is found that the noncanonical value of the commutator plays the significant role. The rigorous definition of equal-time commutators in more general cases is briefly discussed. Keywords
