Abstract
Background: The antiparkinsonian drug l-dopa causes increased cellular synthesis of homocysteine and consequent hyperhomocysteinemia in rats. This effect of l-dopa on plasma homocysteine is accentuated under conditions of impaired homocysteine metabolism such as folate deficiency.Keywords
