Abstract
Mixing rates measured in metallic multilayers (Ni/Ag, Ni/Pd, Ni/Au and Ni/Pt) submitted to He irradiation, are quantitatively analysed in terms of a linear superposition of ballistic and irradiation-enhanced chemical interdiffusion effects. The latter are sensitive to the heat of mixing of the compound. The quantitative agreement is fair in view of the uncertainty of literature data for the parameters entering the model. Keywords
