Identification of the core-excited 2p53s3p4D7/2-2p53s3d4F9/2transition in Na-like ions ranging from S VI to Cu XIX

Abstract
The core-excited 2p53l3l' configurations, produced by means of the beam-foil technique, have been studied in ions along the Na I isoelectronic sequence. In this paper the authors report on the identification of the 2p53s3p 4D7/2-2p53s3d 4F9/2 transition in S VI, Cl VII, Ar VIII, Ti XII, Cr XIV, Fe XVI, Co XVII, Ni XVIII and Cu XIX. The observed transition wavelengths are compared with single-configuration Hartree-Fock calculations. In four of the ions this line had been observed previously but given a different assignment.
