Abstract
Efferent impulses in the chorda tympani nerve of the rat could be recorded under neuroleptic analgesia but not under barbiturate anesthesia. The number of impulses recorded from the whole nerve ranged from 10 to about 120 imp/s. Recordings from branches of the combined chorda‐lingual nerve suggest that most of the observed activity was directed to structures inside the tongue. Keywords
