Abstract
A key question in the mechanism of hormone action is the way in which enhanced turnover of derivatives of membrane-bound phosphatidylinositol might bring about changes in cytosolic calcium. The process is known to be extremely rapid. It is probably involved, for example, in the visual pathway of Limulus (Brown et al. 1984; Fein et al. 1984) and we report here studies on a fast response to hormonal stimulation. Keywords
