Abstract
For Pt.I see ibid., vol.5, no.1 28. Calorimetric detection of absorbed radiation was used to measure spectra on gold and nickel films. Detector calorimeters were prepared from thin mica wafers bearing evaporated metal film thermocouples. Initial tests with microgram deposits of polystyrene on gold films indicate that absorptions of a few per cent are readily measured. Spectra were obtained for the nickel-carbon monoxide system comparable to data in the literature, confirming the suitability of the technique for measurements on adsorbed layers on metal films. Keywords
