Abstract
Mature male albino rats of the Wistar strain were given a series of injections of estradiol valerate, testosterone propionate, or both in combination, in various dosages. Estrogen produces atrophy and androgen produces hypertrophy of the prostate gland. The atrophy produced by the former is inhibited by the latter. Both hormones show a complimentary action in causing atrophy of the interstitial cells of the testes. Keywords
