Abstract
Diarrhea is a well-recognized complication of ampicillin therapy, with 5 patients reported to have pseudomembranous colitis. Although colitis is now recognized as a frequent complication of particular antibiotic usage, only 1 such case was reported previously to be associated with arthritis. The 1st case of arthritis associated with ampicillin colitis is reported and compared with the previous case of clindamycin-associated arthritis and colitis and with previous cases of ampicillin colitis. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
