Abstract
It is proposed that a 2nd species be established within Ureaplasma, U. diversum sp. nov., with strain A417 (NCTC 10182) as the type strain. The new species differs from U. urealyticum serologically and on the basis of the guanine-plus-cytosine content of its DNA and its protein composition as determined by polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. The species is serologically heterogeneous, the member strains apparently belonging to 1 of 3 serological clusters or groups. This publication has 16 references indexed in Scilit:
