Abstract
The opinion expressed, is thai the Pogonophora have evolved from a bitentaculate ancestral form. In the evolutionary process the primitive two tentacles have been reduced to one, or they have been retained, or by a process of polymerization a complex tentacular apparatus has been formed. These last two evolutionary trends are represented in both orders. Keywords
