Abstract
Butoxamine (5 mg. per kilogram) inhibits the fasting as well as the epinephrine‐, norepinephrine‐, and isoproterenol‐induced rise in plasma free fatty acids in man. Although it also significantly lowers fasting plasma glucose levels, butoxamine does not inhibit the rise in plasma glucose induced by epinephrine or norepinephrine. The cardioaccelerator and blood pressure effects of epinephrine and isoproterenol are also decreased by butoxamine which has no significant effect on cardiovascular changes induced by norepinephrine. This publication has 15 references indexed in Scilit:
