EffectiveM2andE3Transition Moments for1h112Single-Proton States

Abstract
Reduced matrix elements B (M2;1h1121g72)=11.0±0.6(e2MC)2 fmand2 B (E3;1h1122d52)=(11.6±2.2)×103e2 fm6 in Pr141 were obtained by studying γ rays following the La139(α,2n)Pr141 reaction. Detailed analysis of the M2 and E3 transitions in nuclei with neutron number 82 gave effective coupling constants g (M2)effg(M2)0.22, and g (E3)effg(E3)3. They were analyzed in terms of the spin-isospin core polarization and the octupole core polarization, respectively.
