Abstract
ALTHOUGH sickle-cell disease has been associated with vascular thrombosis and tissue infarction1 sickle states have only recently been associated with similar phenomena. Splenic infarctions,2 3 4 5 pulmonary infarctions,7 cerebral thrombosis,8 maternal deaths,6 bony changes9 and hematuria10 , 11 are some of the phenomena occurring with sickle states.
