DNA sequence from the unzipping force? : one mutation problem

Abstract

The possibility of detecting mutations in a DNA from force measurements is discussed theoretically and a proposal of a differential force microscope is made. The force signal is associated with the domain wall separating the zipped from the unzipped regions. The feasibility of sequencing a DNA by using the same method is also discussed. Two lattice models are treated as specific examples.
