THE EFFECT OF 17α-METHYL-19-NORTESTOSTERONE ON THE EXCRETION OF NEUTRAL 17-KETOSTEROIDS AND 17-HYDROXYCORTICOSTEROIDS IN ADULT MALES

Abstract
When administered in sufficiently large doses over a period of 3 weeks, 17[alpha]-methyl-19-nortestosterone causes a decrease in the urinary excretion of 11-deoxy-17-ketosteroids, androsterone, and 3[alpha]-hydroxy-5[beta]-androstan-17-one (etiocholanolone). Administration of 25 mg daily for 3 weeks after castration does not further effect the excretion of 17-hydroxycorticosteroids.
