Abstract
A versatile UHV‐compatible collimator and Faraday cup assembly has been designed for studies that utilize ion beams. The collimator structure consists of two solid copper gaskets with small diameter holes for ion beamcollimation and an electron stripper for removel of low energy electrons from the ion beam. Highly accurate ion current measurements have been made possible by appropriate biasing of the demountable Faraday cup, which is supported from the collimator structure. The assembly should also be appropriate for many studies employing electronsKeywords
