Abstract
Photoionization spectra of atomic hydrogen of a homogeneous electric field are calculated by exact integration of the Schrodinger equation for both negative and positive energies and compared with various experimental data. The number method allows the spectra to be decomposed into contributions from the parabolic substates labelled by the quantum number n1. On this basis the field-induced continuum oscillations are discussed. Keywords
