Abstract

The

L

and

K

x-radiations of manganese resulting from orbital-electron capture in a gaseous source of

{Fe}^{55}

have been studied in a multiwire proportional counter. The

\frac{L}{K}

-capture ratio was found to be 0.108±0.006, in good agreement with the theoretical value.
