Abstract
DURING a remission of acute leukemia in children induced by one of the chemotherapeutic agents the bone marrow may return temporarily to a normal morphologic state. Thus, the question arises whether in some cases the marrow may provide an acceptable source of autologous material for subsequent use as a marrow autograft.1 It has been reported that the infusion of autologous marrow in animals2 3 4 and isologous marrow in man,5 after potentially lethal doses of radiation or chemotherapeutic agents,6 can protect against their otherwise lethal effects by restoring the marrow cell population. It has also been shown that marrow may be preserved . . .Keywords
